New Year's Resolution Time...Already?!

Let's cut to the chase! Only 8% of people achieve their New Year's Goal. That's depressing! Why is that? Taking on too much at once, putting everything off til tomorrow, giving up after one failed attempt, comparing yourself to others (don't do it!), or just not being nice to yourself by setting yourself up for success. 

Let's be nice to ourselves this year! Let's be our own best friend. Let's surround ourselves with people who love you (your crowd may shrink significantly). 

There is nothing more attractive on a woman than healthy skin. You can never start too early taking care of your skin. If you take care of your skin properly (speaking to you young 'ens), you will be grateful you did so as early as your 30's. You will start to notice you look strikingly younger than your peers, the older you get. It is so much easier to do preventative skin care than reparative, and cheaper! There are some great, inexpensive skincare products for preventative skin care, but the skin care products that target corrective care is out of reach for the average person. Okay! So now that I am done preaching to the y'all, lets get down to it!

Long and short, ladies of all ages, it is NEVER too late to start taking care of yourself and living a balanced life. Here are a few of my favorite, very simple tricks to taking care of your skin:

Drink Water 

Have a daily goal jug of water and either chug it down or have it to pour into a smaller water bottle. Often times we are thirsty, but we mistake it for hunger. 

Wear Sunscreen

You do not have to dip yourself in a vat of it, just slather it on those parts that are exposed daily (and reapply). The places that show daily are your face, neck, decolletage, and your hands. In the summer, it's all out there, so a sunscreen that sprays is most convenient.

Spray Tan Instead

Everyone looks better tan! A tan hides imperfections and showcases ANY muscle you may have. But rather than get one from over exposure to UV (sun and tanning beds) that is doing permanent damage to your skin, save your skin and spray it on. It's quick, it's all natural and you control the color! Plus, if you do it at Dixie Tan Spa, it is a good time and at Dixie we do body contouring to accentuate your lovely curves!

Wear a Hat

I know this is technically sunscreen, but it is important enough to have it's own sub-column. Find some cute hats and wear 'em! Keep one in your trunk. Don't use the excuse you forgot it. Go buy a cheap one! WEAR A HAT. Plus..most of the time, it's super-cute!

Eat Healthy

This is harder for some than others. With that being said, make eating healthy simple. Find fruits, veggies and nuts that you like to snack on and always have them on hand. There are always new, tasty and healthy treats coming out, so try 'em. However, always have quick grabs available: fruit/nuts/veggies..most grocery stores have the option of pre-cut fruits and veggies. It's worth it if you do not have the time.

Take Supplements

Let's be honest. Fatty, salty, sugary, delicious foods are so abundant and so easy to grab therefore a lot of our diet consists of empty calories. Supplements are a great way for a quick fix. Talk to your doctor or nutritionist for what is best for your unique body. Vitamins A, D, E, & C are super-vitamins when it comes to your skin, all having different superpowers.
